Why We Ask More Questions Than Most Agencies

by | Aug 13, 2025 | Web Design & Development

When new clients see our onboarding questionnaire for the first time, they almost always say the same thing:

“Wow… you really want to know everything, don’t you?”

Yep. We do. And there’s a reason for that.

The Problem With “Just Build It”

We’ve seen too many agencies take a brief, nod a few times, and jump straight into design or SEO. No questions, no strategy—just a shiny new site that might look nice but doesn’t actually move the needle.

That’s not how we work.

We learned early on that asking more questions—sometimes way more questions—is the only way to build something that truly works.

The Questions That Matter

When we kick off a project, we don’t just ask for your logo and brand colors. We ask things like:

  • Who’s your best customer—and who’s wasting your time?
  • What’s the one thing that makes you better than your competition?
  • What would a real win look like in six months?

Because a beautiful website without a strategy is just a digital brochure. And you don’t need a brochure—you need a business tool that generates leads, builds trust, and actually grows with you.

The Moment It Clicked

One of our favorite projects came from a client who told us, “Just make it look good.”

We didn’t stop there. We asked questions, challenged their assumptions, and built their site around what their customers actually cared about.

Within three months, their leads tripled. And you know what they said?
“I’m so glad you didn’t just give me what I asked for.”

That’s when we knew our “too many questions” approach wasn’t just different—it was exactly what our clients needed.

In The End

We’re not the agency that just checks boxes. We’re the one that digs deep, asks the questions nobody else will, and builds websites and SEO strategies that actually work.

Because the more we understand your business, the better we can grow it.

And if that means asking 27 questions before we write a single line of code… we’re okay with that.
